Introduction
This Notice has been prepared by Logos Collective Association (“Logos”) a Swiss association registered under the laws of Switzerland with registered address Baarerstrasse 10, 6302 Zug, Switzerland.
This Notice provides general information about the relationship between Logos, Logos Circles and participants in Logos Circles (such participants, being “Participants”). It is intended to, among other things, clarify the independent nature of Logos Circles and the respective responsibilities of Logos, Logos Circles and its Participants.
It is informational in nature and not intended to create contractual obligations between Logos and Participants.
Relationship with Logos Circles
Logos Circles are independent communities or initiatives established and operated by their respective Participants. Logos does not establish, operate, supervise, direct or control the activities, operations, initiatives or governance of any Logos Circle.
Participation in a Logos Circle does not make a person an employee, contractor, agent, representative, or official spokesperson of Logos. Participants do not have any authority to act for or bind Logos in any way.
Logos may, from time to time, provide limited and discretionary support to a Logos Circle, including grants or advisory support. Any such support is provided solely to facilitate a Logos Circle’s independent activities and does not alter its independent status and does not constitute supervision, control, management, endorsement, or approval of the Logos Circle or its activities.
Participation and responsibility
Participant’s involvement in a Logos Circle is entirely voluntary and undertaken at their own initiative and risk. Participants are fully responsible for their own actions and compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
Participants are responsible for their views, statements, materials, contents, projects and other activities they create, publish, organise or undertake as part of their participation in a Logos Circle.
Participation in a Logos Circle does not, solely by virtue of that participation, entitle Participants to compensation, benefits, reimbursement, or any other payment from Logos.
Logos does not provide any representations or warranties in connection with a Participant’s activities in a Logos Circle.
Intellectual property
Logos may grant Participants and Logos Circles a limited non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use specific Logos-related names, symbols, or designs (“Logos materials”) in relation to Logos Circles activities, such as events promotion, documentation and community activities, subject to Logos’ branding guidelines and written instructions.
Permission to use Logos materials does not imply that a Logos Circle or its activities are official, endorsed, approved, supervised, or controlled by Logos. Participants should not use Logos Materials in a way that could create such an impression.
All Logos trademarks, logos, and related intellectual property remain the sole property of Logos Collective Association or its affiliates.
Community content and licensing
Logos encourage all Participants when creating any new content, materials or other works to align with open source principles and make sure they share it with the public under appropriate open source licences. This allows others, including Logos and other Logos Circles to redistribute and build upon content, materials and software created by Logos Circles.
The appropriate licence will depend on the nature of the material. For example, CC BY-SA 4.0 may be suitable for certain documents and creative works, while software may be released under an appropriate open-source software licence, for instance, being dual-licenced under Apache 2.0 and MIT. Participants should obtain appropriate advice before applying a licence to software or other materials.
Participants remain responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights and permissions to share any content or materials and complying with any applicable licence terms.
The views, opinions, materials, content, and actions of Logos Circle participants are their own and do not necessarily represent the views or position of Logos. Participants should not present their personal views, projects or activities as representing Logos or as having been approved or endorsed by Logos.
Where Logos publishes or shares information about a Logos Circle or its activities, it does so for informational purposes only. Such publication or sharing does not constitute an endorsement, authorisation, approval of a Logos Circle or its activities.
Independent responsibility
Logos does not assume responsibility or liability for the activities, actions, views, opinions, statements, materials, content, or outcomes of any Logos Circle or its Participants.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Logos does not accept responsibility or liability, whether direct or indirect, arising from any loss, harm, damage, injury, claim, cost or expense arising from or relating to participation in, or activities undertaken through or in connection with, a Logos Circle.
